Direct payments advice

We can support you with all aspects of direct payments. No question is too big or too small and if we don't know the answer we can refer you to someone who possibly does.

In conjunction with our other services we can provide you information on a range of activities and services that can be found throughout the County.

Contracts of employment

We can draft contracts for you for new and existing employees. Please contact us, we'll take a few details from you then post or email you the contracts. The contracts have been drafted specifically for direct payment employers and have been through independent legal scrutiny.

Budget and rate of pay calculations

We can assist you with working out how many hours of support your personal budget will provide you with and we can also work out affordable rates of pay taking into account all annual expenses, employers national insurance and holiday pay. This can usually be done over the telephone or by email.

Payroll

Information regarding our payroll service can be found here.

Managed accounts

Information regarding our managed account service can be found here.

Support Planning

It may be possible for us to assist you with the writing of your support plan. Please contact us or your social worker for further information.

Personal assistant recruitment

We can assist you as much or as little as you like with recruiting a new personal assistant. We can draft a job description for your approval which is then advertised on the Job Centre Plus website and in the Job Centre offices as well as on our own website here. We will also send a copy of your vacancy and an application form to people registered with us wanting notification of vacancies.

If you require we can draft a suitable advert and place it on your behalf in a local newspaper. We can also make up laminated adverts for you to display in local shops and services.

We will ensure you remain anonymous at all times. Completed applications for your vacancy will be sent to us and then sent to you. We do not vet applicants and we do not make recommendations.

It is then up to you as to how you then proceed. You can either contact applicants directly yourself to arrange interviews. Alternatively we can assist with any of the following:

• contacting applicants and arranging interviews

• arranging a suitable venue, we do not advise you interview in your own home

• provide you with sample questions and discuss how best to interview

• supporting you in the interview

• requesting references for successful candidates

• drafting contracts of employment

• assisting you payroll

Employment issues advice

We provide general advice on employment matters and can support you with disciplinary and redundancy meetings etc. It is, however, important that you contact your employment liability insurer immediately for specific legal advice and to notify them of any potential employment issues. Failure to do so may void your policy.
