Advocacy
Can an Advocate help me?
- Do you need someone on your side?
- Do you need help to get your voice heard?
- Do you need help understanding?
It's your right to have a say in what happens in your life.
An independant advocate can help you make sure that your voice is heard.
How can an Advocate help?
We can support you:
- In meetings
- In appointments, for example with doctors or solicitors
- With letter writing
- Or just talking with other people
We will keep what you say confidential.
We won't make judgements about what you say.
We can come and see you in your own area.
What about benefit assessments?
DCIL can support disabled people who are about to go through the new FACE Overview Assessment process or any other Social Services assessment, review of your existing care plan or provide advocacy support for people facing the new Incapacity Benefit/Employment Support Allowance assessments.
