DDCIL Wellbeing Support Groups –
Formerly the Depression and Anxiety Support Group
Every month DDCIL hosts a wellbeing support group in Ripley.
These are peer support groups which means they are run by people who themselves are going through, or at some point in their lives have been through, depression and/or anxiety.
The groups’ aims are to provide a supportive and empathic environment – a safe place to come and be with other people. Each meeting we have a guest speaker or activity that can offer strategies in coping with depression and anxiety. It is a warm and welcoming environment where you will be greeted by friendly faces and offered a cup of tea or coffee!
The group asks for a £2 donation on the day if you can afford it, to go towards the running costs.
The groups are not restricted to residents of Amber Valley or the Derbyshire Dales, we will be very pleased to welcome you from anywhere in the county. If you would like more information please phone us on 01773 740 246 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you do plan to attend we recommend you call up on the day to confirm the meeting is going ahead.
Please note that the group does not provide therapy or counselling, however DDCIL has a separate professional counselling service. If you are interested in counselling please contact us on the above details. Alternatively there will be someone you can speak about it with at the group.
