We can help and have considerable experience with:
Advocacy is where an advocate works with you to support you and enable you to express your views and opinions. An advocate can help make sure that your views and wishes are taken into account when decisions are being made about your life.
Peer counselling offered by DCIL means counselling by disabled people who are professionally trained in counselling. Our counsellors have direct experience of disability. The service is offered to disabled people, their families and carers, and couples who are dealing with issues raised by disability, throughout Derbyshire.
Every month DDCIL hosts support groups in Ripley and Matlock. These are peer support groups which means they are run by people who themselves are going through, or at some point in their lives have been through, depression and/or anxiety.
We offer independent advice and information about Direct Payments and Support Planning.
