Introduction to Using the Internet Tasters

Amber Valley CVS and Disability Derbyshire are working together to enable voluntary groups to find out the benefits of using the Internet.

The sessions will comprise for example,

  • How to use the Internet safely and effectively, 
  • Using email,
  • Online searches,
  • Understanding shopping online,
  • Public services online,
  • Banking online,
  • Job hunting online.

The courses will consist of 3 - 1 ½ hour sessions during a week over 3 days from 10.30 to 12 noon.

The first course will start week commencing 21 March and the last course will start week commencing 20 June 2011.

These introductory courses aim to increase your confidence and develop your ICT and internet skills. You may then decide to progress onto further learning or employment related activities.

The centre has state of the art IT equipment including assistive technology items such as large key keyboards and specialist roller ball mice and also the use of Jaws software to build on our experience of supporting blind and visually impaired people.
