DDAN Partnership with AV-CVS and Disability Derbyshire - Presentation of IT Certificates
Proud learners are seen here enjoying the award of their certificates for completing the Introduction to Using the Internet course. The training was delivered through a project in partnership with Amber Valley CVS and Disability Derbyshire DDCIL. The courses were held from March through to June 2011.
Forty learners attended the training at Disability Derbyshire offices in Ripley. They were recruited through Amber Valley CVS. All forty learners are either volunteers or support organisations from the voluntary community sector. The learners were shown how to use the Internet safely and confidently, how to use email and search for information. Many said they valued the new skills they had learned and that they would continue to develop and use these whenever the opportunity arises.
Following on from these courses there is the opportunity for more volunteers to come along for 5 supervised sessions using our computers and Internet access. We ask that learners give a small £5 donation toward our running costs for these 5 sessions (ie £1 per session).
Amber Valley CVS and Disability Derbyshire would like to thank DDAN for the opportunity to work closely for the benefit of the many volunteers and enabling us to work in partnership for the benefit of the local community.
