DDCIL member

Any disabled person who develops an interest in the aims of Disability Derbyshire and the Disabled People's movement can join Disability Derbyshire as a member. By becoming a member of Disability Derbyshire you lend your support to our work in promoting the full participation of Disabled People in the mainstream of life in Derbyshire and Derby.

As a User Led Organisation (ULO), a disabled person who is a member of Disability Derbyshire can vote at our Annual General Meeting, can nominate (or be nominated!) for election to become a member of our Board of Trustees and so have an influence on the direction of the organisation.

Non-disabled people, groups and organisations can also join Disability Derbyshire as affiliate members and lend support to their local organisation of disabled people.

Disability Derbyshire's Membership and Volunteer Development officers support the active participation of members in all aspects of their local communities. Members can get involved in Disability Derbyshire Local Member Groups and from there participate in local projects and campaigns. Members represent Disability Derbyshire and disabled people's views on a number of forums and groups throughout the county.

Members and volunteers are also involved at Disability Derbyshire in administration, information provision, Braille transcription, as Counsellors, as trainers and in many other roles.
