DCIL Volunteering
Do you want to get more involved in your local community
Why has this project been established?
DCIL works with disabled people to access opportunities to get more involved in their local community.
You might like to take up volunteering, or access training course in subjects that interest you, or contribute to the way services are developed that affect your life as a disabled person.
As part of this project we also aim to improve the range of opportunities available to disabled people by influencing those organisations that are not currently accessible to make the necessary adjustments to become so.
Why get involved?
There are many different reasons why people get in touch with us, you might want to:
- Find out what's out there for you
- Meet new people and make new friends
- Develop your skills and learn new skills
- Increase your self-confidence
- Gain experience for employment in paid work
- Make a vital contribution to your local community
What can we offer you?
If you are volunteering:
We can provide information in accessible formats.
We can offer you support in thinking about what you might like to do, and how you might go about it.
And we will continue to support you once you get started.
We will keep you informed of other opportunities coming up that may interest you.
