Disability Discrimination Act Training

COURSE INFORMATION

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS COURSE?

This course is designed to help staff working with disabled customers/staff or managing staff responsible for HR management policies and customer care, to identify and plan for meeting statutory duties under current legislation.

WHY CHOOSE DCIL?

As an organisation of disabled people we have the advantage of being truly representative of the concerns and wishes of disabled people themselves.

WHAT SHOULD I DO PRE COURSE?

Consider the view that disabled people are disadvantaged by the way society is organised.

The DDA 1995 and 2005 make it illegal for organisations to discriminate against disabled people either in terms of provision of goods and services, or in employment.

Taking account of the access and legal requirements of disabled people will help your organisation to meet legal requirements whilst taking advantage of the skills and abilities of disabled workers and of the spending power of disabled customers.

WHAT WILL I LEARN ON THIS COURSE?

It aims to raise awareness of:

  • What a disability is
  • The DDA law
  • What may be considered to be ‘reasonable adjustments’
  • DDA and disabled customers
  • DDA and disabled employees
  • How to plan for change
  • What is discrimination with regard to DDA

WHERE ARE THE COURSES HELD?

A suitable course location will be arranged at a wheelchair accessible venue.

IS THERE AN EXAM?

No Exam.

HOW MUCH WILL THE COURSE COST?

The course fee is £350 per day for 10 individuals.
(£50 per person - 5-9 individuals)

HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?

Each course is tailored to the needs of the individual organisation - 1 full day duration.
