Current DCIL Projects
Our funding strategy is to:
- secure public investment in the core activities needed to implement our Strategic Plan and maintain capacity for development;
- run separately funded projects to do development work and add value to core services.
These pages outline the main ongoing and recent projects.
High Peak Project
This project co-ordinates the work done by members in the High Peak area, many of whom are actively involved in projects run by other organisations, as well as providing access to our services for other Disabled people and interested parties.
The High Peak Project has received funding to enable it to continue until at least the end of 2008.
Disabled People's Mentoring Project
Are you a disabled person, living in the district of Bolsover, Chesterfield or North-East Derbyshire?
If so, and you have overcome barriers to live a more independent life, your skills and life experience will be invaluable in helping other disabled people achieve their goals. You will find becoming a Mentor and giving peer support to other disabled people rewarding, and it could open up new job or volunteering opportunities as a Mentor or an Advocate.
Please phone 01623 744664 for more information, or email shirebrook@dcil.org.uk
Young Disabled Peoples Volunteering Strategy
DCIL has been awarded funding from the Russell Commission to develop a strategy for involving young disabled people as volunteers with DCIL.
